5 New Releases: App Store Tracker

5 new apps climbing the App Store and worth stealing ideas from

      Hi fellow app scouts,

This week we found an AI photo app already in the Top 100 across 20+ countries, a couples game with 20K players, and a focus app that turns distractions into 30 second lessons.

      Let's get into it.

      HotMerry • Photo app

HotMerry swaps your photo's background for one styled around your zodiac sign, generated by AI in a single tap.

The filter itself is the hook here, which is a format we've seen work really well for AI photo apps.

It launched on August 26 and is already Top 100 in Graphics & Design across 20+ countries.

      WeWild • Couples Games

WeWild is a game night for two, packed with Truth or Dare, a naughty roulette, and dares that use your own names.

Spicy couples content is also a pretty natural fit for short form, where relationship videos already do really well.

It launched on August 17 and is already Top 100 in Lifestyle across 20+ countries, with 20K downloads.

      Becom • Focus app

Becom blocks your most distracting apps, and every time you try to open one, it hands you a 30 second lesson to learn from.

It brings together two categories that already have huge demand: screen time blocking and productivity.

It launched on August 12 and is already Top 100 in Productivity across 5 countries.

Learn How To Think Like a Top App Designer

Open your favorite app. Now ask yourself:

      Why is that button there?

Why did they ask for notifications at that exact moment?

Why does the onboarding feel effortless?

      Those little decisions add up.

Every week, José breaks down the design choices behind the best apps on the App Store.

      Onboarding flows, paywalls, retention mechanics.

Ever wondered how the team behind your favorite app made those decisions?

Fix Yo Yap • Speaking game

Fix Yo Yap gives you a topic and 45 seconds to talk, then scores your filler words and pace and crowns you a speaking persona.

It feels like a game, but you're also getting better at speaking every time you play.

It launched on August 13 and is currently #69 in Education in India.

      Osly • Snooze app

Osly turns every snooze into a little printed receipt, stacking your “five more minutes” under a glowing night sky.

It also turns your snoozes into something you can use to understand your sleep habits.

It launched on August 30 and is currently #97 in Lifestyle in Turkey.
